OVERVIEW + HIGHLIGHTS :

Bain & Company is one of the world’s leading management consulting firms. Their workplace giving program is a strong driver of Bain’s social impact culture, with a participation rate of near 70%, it has become core to what it means to be a Bainie.

Staff contribute time or skills to the community in many ways, most noteworthy is Bain’s dedicated pro-bono consulting focus. This is a unique offering where Bain provides valuable services through formalised pro-bono consulting – 6 pro bono projects have already been completed in 2022, amounting to the equivalent of several million dollars.

In addition, staff can volunteer consulting services to charity partners through Bain’s “extra 10” program, contributing  ~10% of every week (outside their day jobs) to solving complex problems for social organisations in the community.

Regular communications and events such as a Community Impact Day, ‘Brown Bag’ lunches, Dare Month and Workplace Giving Month drive interest and engagement in the program.  The Bain Dare Month boosts the annual result by challenging all Bainies to donate during fun events held during April. This year over $24,000 was pledged by staff.

The program plays a major role in attracting the best talent and is communicated to job candidates in the early stages of recruitment, ensuring they understand the importance of social impact to Bain and have strong alignment to that culture.
